OSB

Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is an engineered wood panel made from compressed wood strands bonded with strong adhesives under heat and pressure. It offers high strength, good dimensional stability, and a uniform structure with a rough-sanded surface.

OSB is durable, cost-effective, and easy to process, making it widely used in flooring, wall sheathing, roofing, furniture, and packaging. It is available in different sizes, thicknesses, and grades to meet various construction and performance needs.

With strong load-bearing capacity and impact resistance, OSB performs reliably in both residential and commercial applications across different climates.

DETAIL

What is oriented strand board (OSB)?

OSB (Oriented Strand Board), also known as oriented strand particle board, is an engineered wood panel made by arranging thin wood strands in specific orientations.

These strands are combined with eco-friendly adhesives and hot-pressed under high temperature and pressure.

Due to its unique cross-oriented structure, OSB offers excellent structural strength, moisture resistance (in higher grades), strong nail-holding ability, and dimensional stability.

It is widely used in building construction, including wall sheathing, roofing, and subflooring in wood-frame houses. OSB is also used in furniture manufacturing and interior decoration.

Eco-friendly OSB sheets for construction, furniture, and interior applications

Applications

Explore common applications for our high-quality products.

  • Building Structures: Roof sheathing, wall panels, floor subflooring (especially in wood-frame construction).
  • Interior Finishing: Wall cladding, ceilings, formwork support (for concrete pouring).
  • Packaging and Shipping: Replaces wooden crates, pallets, etc.
  • Furniture Manufacturing: Cabinets, bookshelves (usually requires veneering or surface finishing).

Common Classifications and Uses

According to the European standard (EN 300), OSB is divided into four grades based on moisture resistance:

  • OSB/1: General-purpose, for dry environments (e.g., furniture, interior decoration).
  • OSB/2: Load-bearing, for structural use in dry environments (e.g., wall sheathing, floor underlayment).
  • OSB/3: Moisture-resistant load-bearing, suitable for humid environments (e.g., bathroom/kitchen sheathing, roof decking).
  • OSB/4: High-strength moisture-resistant, for high-load humid environments (e.g., heavy-duty structural applications).
